I’m pretty handy for a female, I own a few power tools and I’m not afraid to use them. I can sew if the occasion calls for it and I’m not shy about asking for guidance if there is something I don’t know how to do. I’ve found I can generally get more bang for my buck if I purchase the materials and do the labor myself.
Not all of my DIY projects are to save money, there are occasions when lasting quality is more important than saving money upfront. Sometimes the upfront investment in quality materials can turn your project into a long term savings. There is no right or wrong with DIY, it’s all about preference, finished quality, and stretching you project budget to get the best and most out of your time and money.
